To Deputise for the Head of Energy overseeing all Operations and build the operational support function for OTC, ETE [Exchanged Traded Energy], Structured & Hybrid business. Commodities; energy, Precious and Base metals,
Currently recruiting and experienced Senior Operations Associate who specifically has covered the OTC, ETE, Structured business. The candidate would act as a Supervisor to the Head of Energy, and grow and develop the Op's sector. Main responsibilities inc: * Trade Date validation of trade blotters or term sheets against Murex (or other trade capture systems) for all Exchange Traded (other than trades with a direct electronic platform feed to the trade capture system, which are subject to an EoD trade count as the validation process), Cleared OTC and bilateral OTC transactions. * Liaising with Traders to ensure their timely action of any Trade Date amendments to Murex bookings. * OTC trades’ Broker Confirmation checks and reconciliations. * Matching Broker Confirmations for Cleared OTC Transactions. * OTC trades’ Initial Counterparty Affirmations. * Drafting OTC paper Confirmations compliant with ISDA Definitions. * Chasing outstanding, and inbound, OTC paper Confirmations. * Production of the Start of Day Position Reports for each Trader. * Look to achieve Trade Date position sign-off in order to provide tighter business controls. * Check Exchange Traded Volumes match at the end of each day. * Provide reports of upcoming exchange traded products for expiry. * Handle any trade amendments which are required greater than T+0. * Invoicing and telephone agreeing settlements for all transactions. * Processing of settlement payments and receipts. * Processing brokerage invoices, reconciling to statements and settling invoices. * Perform / validate market adhoc operations - system static data amendments. * Daily reconciliation of trading activity dealt on exchanges to internal trade capture system. * Daily capture of all traded commodity prices and loading into internal trade capture system. * Assist with training of others on new or improved procedures/systems. * Proactive query escalation and resolution. * Contribute to the formal MIS Reporting processes, via the Head of Energy Operations. * Build and maintain effective relationships with all areas of the business, particularly with Front Office, Legal, IT and FRM. * General administrative duties as required.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an Senior candidate within Energy Operations - who would like to take on more responsibilities. Ideal candidates must be able to demonstrate a competent level of technical understanding of the application of either the 2005 ISDA Commodity Definitions or alternatively the 1993/2000 ISDA Commodity Derivatives Definitions, in respect of drafting structured and bespoke ISDA Commodities Confirmations. Having an understanding of the issues impacting Operations within ISDA Master Agreements would be advantageous as would having a good understanding of the trade capture and validation process from end to end for each of Exchange Traded, Cleared OTC and Bilateral OTC Energy products.
