Your Mandate
The Energy Analyst will focus on both gas and power market fundamentals. You will be expected to assist and support all aspects of trading activities in the Market Operations area of this diverse business.
As a vital member of the group, you will supporting trading activities in gas, power and renewable products within the group through your numerical expertise.
The Main duties will cover (but not be limited to)-
Undertaking detailed and accurate analysis of energy markets under strict time frames
Support the delivery of current and future Revenue and Gross Margin streams in line with business projections
Assist and develop tools and financial models in support of all commodities - this includes forecasting and reporting functions
Support any analytical activities within business development department
Contributing toward ongoing projects and business improvement activities
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications within an Econometric, Financial, or Quantitative / Mathematical discipline
Proven quantitative analysis and financial engineering skills gained within a similar environment
High-end numerical and IT literacy
Advanced skills in querying Oracle databases using MS Access & Excel (VBA) as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Experience within electricity, gas, financial markets or actuarial environments will be a advantageous, however individuals with exceptional system and problem solving / numerical ability will be considered
